About Ayurveda

Ayurveda means “life knowledge” in Sanskrit, and is the sister science to yoga. Ayurveda is the ancient practice of traditional East Indian medicine and is in direct alignment with yogic philosophy, utilizing the wisdom of the elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether.

Using the techniques of Asana (body movement), Mantra (repetitive sound), Pranayama (breath control), along with dietary and lifestyle recommendations, Ayurveda provides a unique approach to aid in holistic well-being.

Yoga & Ayurveda

Yoga by definition means all life is in union: Body, emotions, mind and spirit are one. Yogic practices include asana (physical movement), pranayama (breathing), mantra (chanting), mudra (hand gestures), bandha (energy locks), and meditation (concentration practices).

Ayurvedic and yogic philosophies and sciences are utilized to bring balance to each person, dependent on current life circumstance and phase of life.
